Today we will focus on finding the “right” questions to spark an effective feedback conversation. Correct not because there is a right or wrong, but because they allow greater ease in guiding the discussion and obtaining information from it that will help you in addressing the future path for your resource.
Clearly you cannot simply put the questions one after the other because this will lead more to an interrogation than a discussion, but, instead, you have to find the right moment to ask the right question so that they appear as a natural part of the meeting.
So what can you ask?
A) What is the most important goal you are working on right now and what is really important to achieve it? What could be obstructive in getting it?
B) What support, if any will help you succeeding?
C) What perspective do you have in achieving your goal and which one once it is achieved?
D) Is there something you are not considering?
E) How can you describe your current situation? If you had to make one change that makes a difference in the current situation, what would it be?
F) What are your priorities? What is aligned? What’s not aligned?
G) What will help you focus on your vision? What is the main factor in achieving it?
H) How will you recognise success?
Remember: the more you practice, the easier will be
