You are a genius, aren’t you?
Genius is often confused as a rare and unique trait of very few people. And that is true, but is only one face of the medal: this is the small group of people who have an innate sense that put them a step (or a thousand steps) beyond common ones. The other part is the genius attitude that can be learned and trained.
So first of all let’s try to land to a common sensing of this fundamental characteristic. What is Genius, so?Genius is perceiving every problem as something completely new. Is not only taking always new challenges but finding them interesting and part of a lifelong discovery. This is you raising your own bar and setting continuously new challenges or actively dealing with those that life throws to you.
In my experience is very difficult to trace a clear line between genius and what is perceived as genius: for example if you try to imagine a person capable of a real effective lateral thinking, sometimes is able to catch some links that can be perceived as “genius” while they could be only the expression of a trained mind.
And here steps in the second ingredient: being curious about every aspect of the world that is surrounding you. Is a matter of fact that curious people are more “complete” persons, at least because of the continuous (positive) stress they put on their brain.
So acting and training could make you develop like a genius, and curiosity, together with an open minded approach, is the key.
Open mind enables you to explore different approaches, while curiosity (cultivated with perseverance) gives you the datas to explore.
Using an IT similitude, is like having the query tools (open mind) and the database (datas extracted using curiosity).
And when the mind is trained to work like this is easier to generate links between the dots and transform a chaotic reality in a new enchanting universe enriching you.
