Today, we will continue examining the factors and behaviours that impact effective and successful leadership. Just remember that leadership is a multi faced approach to be taken and doesn’t necessarily need to maximise all the pillars at same time: there are moments for each and every point we discuss in our journey and for their combination; is up to us as managers to find the right blend.
Be clear
The first point concerns the importance of clarity in our actions as managers, which significantly influences team satisfaction. Unclear direction and ineffective communication can lead to confusion, poor outcomes, and conflicts.
And clarity starts from having the right objectives to focus on: it is essential to set measurable and aligned objectives in line with the overall strategy, and regularly review their connection to the goal, not only in the medium to long term but also on a weekly basis, as a journey consists of intermediate milestones.
Be thankful
The second point revolves around the significance of gratitude which is good only if it is genuine. Genuine appreciation when we encounter positive behaviours and/or the team obtains successes , regardless of scale, fosters a positive work environment. Similarly, expressing genuine gratitude during challenging times is crucial.
Be determined
Another important aspect is the determination to drive projects and goals forward. While determination is crucial, alone doesn’t seem to be enough. Be sure to complement it by specific knowledge to achieve objectives.
Be sincerely kind
Kindness, often overlooked, is another crucial point for effective leadership. It is essential for great leaders to balance determination with genuine kindness, as it opens doors, reinforces positive behaviours, and strengthens leadership. Which doesn’t mean you always have to be kind at all costs.
Continuously refocus based on your gaps
The final element to consider is the ability to analyse gaps, which involves identifying the current state and the desired destination. This analysis enables leaders to determine the necessary steps to move from the current state to the desired one.
